A grow tent creates a controllable indoor environment for legal plants, seedlings and permitted medical cultivation where applicable. Measure the full room, doorway and ceiling height before choosing a tent, including space for ducting and safe access around the outside.
Inside the tent, allow vertical room for containers, mature plant height, the light fitting and the manufacturer’s recommended distance between the light and canopy.
Match the LED light to the growing area
Do not choose an LED only from the product name or an advertised equivalent wattage. Check the manufacturer’s stated flowering and vegetative coverage, actual power draw, heat management and recommended hanging distance.
An evenly lit canopy is usually more useful than one intense hotspot. Reflective tent walls can improve light use, but they do not compensate for an undersized fitting.
Ventilation and environment
Plants exchange heat and moisture with the air. An extraction fan, passive or powered intake and air movement inside the tent help manage temperature, humidity and stagnant pockets. Equipment should be sized for the tent volume and the resistance created by filters and ducting.
- Use a thermometer and humidity meter rather than guessing.
- Keep intakes clear and avoid sharp duct bends where possible.
- Place circulating fans so leaves move gently rather than being blasted continuously.
- Inspect filters, connections and fan noise before every new growing cycle.
Electrical and legal responsibility
Water, humidity and high-powered electrical equipment require care. Keep connections raised from the floor, use properly rated equipment, avoid overloaded extension leads and follow every manufacturer instruction. If the circuit or installation is uncertain, consult a qualified electrician.
Laws governing controlled plants vary by location and purpose. Alchemists Lab supports lawful medical access and responsible harm reduction; it does not encourage illegal cultivation. Confirm the law that applies where you live before using grow equipment for any regulated plant.
CLEAR ANSWERS
Frequently asked questions
What size grow tent should I buy?
Choose from the usable room, plant count, mature plant size, light coverage and space needed for ventilation and access—not from plant count alone.
Do LED grow lights still produce heat?
Yes. Efficient LEDs generally produce less heat than some older technologies, but their electrical power still becomes heat that must be managed.
Do I need an extraction fan?
Most enclosed grow tents benefit from controlled extraction to manage heat, humidity and air exchange. Requirements depend on tent size and the plants being grown.
Who sells the equipment listed in the Emporium?
The grow products are linked through an affiliate retailer, which is responsible for specifications, current prices, stock, payment, delivery and returns.
